The Richardson-Eastman retractor is a multipurpose instrument used by surgeons to widen the edges of a surgical wound or incision. This retractor is a double-ended design that comes with dissimilar blades on each end. One blade is shorter, and surgeons use this blade for the first widening. On the other hand, the larger blade is the best choice for deeper explorations. This blade grants access to hidden cavities without the risk of hemorrhage. The retractor features an ergonomic handle with a central ribbed grip. The grip avoids slippage, and also offers the possibility of switching between blades with a quick finger movement. Lastly, Richardson-Eastman Retractors are available single or in a set of two.
