Kurstin Flap Stretching Forceps
Care Instruments offer Kurstin Flap Stretching Forceps featuring an overall length of 10.5 cm – 4 1/4″ having 1.5mm Angled working ends. It is primarily used in ophthalmic surgeries, particularly in cataract surgeries, to manipulate and hold the capsule of the eye with precision and control. This allows the surgeon to perform delicate maneuvers with greater accuracy and minimize the risk of damaging the delicate tissue of the eye.
They are also used in other ophthalmic surgeries where delicate manipulation of the eye’s capsule is required, such as in certain types of glaucoma surgeries or corneal transplants. Additionally, they may be used in research settings for the handling and manipulation of small, delicate tissues.
The instrument features a pair of 1.5mm jaws supplied with a smooth inner surface. Moreover, the jaws have an angled design that surgeons can use to easily pass into the anterior chamber. After that, they proceed to clamp the capsular tags created by the incision, thereby permitting a successful IOL implantation.
