Shepard Lens Holding Forceps

Care Instruments offer Shepard Lens Holding Forceps featuring an overall length of 12.5 cm – 5″ having Duckbill shaped jaws with Gently curved working ends.. It is primarily used in ophthalmic surgery for the safe and accurate implantation of intraocular lenses during cataract surgery.
They are also used in other ophthalmic surgeries where manipulation of small, delicate objects is required, such as in retinal surgery or glaucoma surgery. However, their primary use remains in cataract surgery.
The instrument has a pair of curved jaws supplied with delicate paddle-shaped tips. Moreover, the paddles have small serrations that surgeons can use to carefully extract the IOL from the lens case. After that, they can guide it into the anterior segment with ease.
