They can also be used for passing sutures or tapes around tendons, ligaments, or other anatomical structures during surgical procedures. They have a long, narrow, and curved shape that allows them to navigate through tight spaces and make precise movements.
The instrument comes with alligator type jaws with interlocking teeth. Moreover, the jaw’s teeth and the alligator action ensure static tendon retractions. As a result, surgeons can hold the tendons in place prior to their further withdrawal or harvesting.
