Girard Corneoscleral Forceps
Care Instruments offer Girard Corneoscleral Forceps featuring an overall length of 10.5 cm – 4″ having Delicate 1 x 2 Teeth with Tying Platform with Angled working ends. It is primarily used in ophthalmic surgery to hold and manipulate the cornea and sclera during procedures such as corneal transplantation and glaucoma surgery.
They can also be used in other surgical procedures that require delicate tissue handling, such as certain plastic and reconstructive surgeries. However, their use in non-ophthalmic procedures is less common.
The instrument features a pair of very fine, angled jaws that enhance sightlines and pass into narrow areas. In addition, surgeons can hold the delicate corneal tissue between the device’s micro-platforms. Also, the 1 x 2 delicate teeth at the tips ensure a secure hold onto the clamped tissues.
