Jaffe Capsulorhexis Forceps
Care Instruments offer Jaffe Capsulorhexis Forceps featuring an overall length of 10.5 cm – 4 1/4″ having Very Delicate (Extremely Thin) Round Grasping Tips with Angled working ends. It is primarily used by ophthalmologists during cataract surgery to create a circular opening in the lens capsule of the eye. This allows for the removal of the cataract and insertion of an artificial lens.
They are also used in other ophthalmic surgical procedures where a circular opening in the lens capsule is required, such as during certain types of glaucoma surgery or in the treatment of some types of retinal detachments. However, their primary use remains in cataract surgery.
The instrument features extremely thin, rounded tips supplied with smooth working surfaces. Moreover, surgeons can use the tips to clamp part of the anterior capsule. After that, surgeons can pull back the dissected parts of the capsule for their further removal.
